Whether you are taking the exam for the first time, want to schedule a retake, or need to renew your driving license: eTheorie.be offers a suitable solution for every profile.
Currently, we offer courses for the theoretical exam of driving license category B (passenger car). In the future, we will also roll out courses for other categories, such as moped (AM) and motorcycle (A). Keep an eye on our website for updates.
Our courses and the entire platform are available in Dutch, French, and English. You choose your preferred language when creating your account. In case of discrepancies between the language versions, the Dutch version always prevails.
Yes. At eTheorie.be, we have extensive experience supporting learners with various learning needs, including dyslexia (clear structure, audiovisual support through video lessons), exam anxiety (calm pace, unlimited repetition of exercises), hearing problems (supporting visual materials with lessons), and autism, ADD, and ADHD (clear structure, short learning blocks, practice questions tailored to your learning style). Do you have specific needs? Contact us at info@etheorie.be, we are happy to help.
Yes, absolutely. Because the platform is fully available in Dutch, French, and English, non-Dutch speaking candidates can follow the course in their strongest language. But even if you follow the Dutch version, you need not worry: we have deliberately ensured that all language and explanations are clear, simple, and understandable, even if Dutch is not your mother tongue. Our instructors are experienced teachers who have worked with all kinds of people. They incorporate that practical experience into the way they explain the material: calmly, clearly, and step by step.
Yes. Once your payment has been processed, you have immediate access to the platform. Our courses are available 24/7, so you can start whenever it suits you, even in the evening or on weekends.
Certainly. We have a lot of experience at eTheorie.be in helping people with autism, ADD, and ADHD. Our teaching methods are specially adapted for clear structure, short and manageable learning moments, and repetition at your own pace. The practice questions align perfectly with your learning style so that you are optimally prepared for your theory exam.
No. eTheorie.be is a completely independent learning platform and has no organizational, commercial, or legal ties with GOCA, recognized exam centers, or other official examination bodies. Our courses are purely preparatory in nature. To schedule your official exam, you must contact a recognized exam center directly.
Content & Support
The content varies by package. In general, our courses include: video lessons taught by certified instructors, an online theory book (e-book), practice exams and trial exams, an overview of traffic signs (PDF), an overview of serious violations (PDF), and a glossary with explanations of commonly used terms. Please refer to the product page for a detailed overview by package.
In your personal profile, you will find an online theory learning bank where you can read the complete theory. This digital book is a handy supplement to the video lessons and summaries. You can access it via any browser, on computer, tablet, or smartphone.
Absolutely. Each package includes practice exams that cover exactly the same material as the official theory exam. All questions are based on the official Belgian traffic regulations and the current exam material. Note: our practice questions are original questions created by eTheorie.be based on the official curriculum. They are not official exam questions from GOCA or a recognized exam center, so the exact wording may differ from the official exam.
Our course is designed to optimally prepare you for the official exam. If you carefully go through the entire course, watch all the videos, and complete all 20 practice exams flawlessly via the "Simulate Real Exam" option, your chances of passing are very high. We are so confident in our method that we offer a not-passed money-back guarantee for your first exam attempt with the Premium package. Check our guarantee conditions for more information.
If you fail the theoretical driving exam twice, you are legally required to take 12 hours of theory lessons at a recognized driving school. After completing these lessons, you will receive an official certificate allowing you to retake the exam an unlimited number of times thereafter. eTheorie.be collaborates with recognized driving schools and can refer you to a suitable driving school in your area. Contact us at info@etheorie.be for more information.
No, eTheorie.be does not offer recognized 12-hour lessons. Our focus is on online video theory courses to prepare for the exam. For the mandatory 12 hours of theory after two failed attempts, we refer you to a recognized driving school in your area.
No, eTheorie.be does not offer practical lessons. We are solely an online theory platform. However, we can help you find a recognized driving school in your area through our partner driving schools. Contact us at info@etheorie.be.
Yes. eTheorie.be offers theory courses for anyone who needs to take a (retake) exam, including those who have lost their driving license and need to take a retake exam. Our course covers the entire official curriculum for the theoretical exam. Feel free to contact us at info@etheorie.be if you have specific questions about your situation.
Yes. eTheorie.be commits to updating the course content when the Belgian traffic regulations change. Our certified instructors closely follow the legislation. However, we cannot guarantee an exact timeframe for each update. In case of doubt, the official Belgian road code is always the only binding source.

Hold System (Pause Button)
Exclusively for Premium users. The hold system is only available with the Premium package and is completely separate from the not-passed money-back guarantee. With the hold system, you can pause your current access period once. During the hold, the remaining access time does not continue. This can be useful in unexpected circumstances such as illness, exam stress, or a busy period at work.
You activate the hold via the designated button in your personal account. Before activation, a confirmation question appears: Are you sure you want to pause? Read this carefully. The hold lasts a maximum of 7 consecutive calendar days. After the hold period, your access automatically resumes. The hold can be used only once per purchase and is not divisible into shorter periods.
Yes, but only within a limited time window. After activation, you have 60 minutes to undo the hold yourself via the same button in your account. After those 60 minutes, the hold is final and cannot be reversed, even by contacting eTheorie.be. Always read the confirmation question carefully before clicking confirm.
No. The hold system is completely separate from the not-passed money-back guarantee. Using the hold has no negative impact on your claim to the guarantee, as long as you meet all other guarantee conditions.
Not Passed Money-Back Guarantee
Exclusively for the Premium package, only for the first official exam attempt. We are so confident in the quality of our course that we will refund your money if you do not pass your first official theory exam in Belgium, despite fully completing the platform. To claim the guarantee, you must meet all conditions. Full details can be found at www.etheorie.be/garantie and in our General Terms and Conditions.
You must meet all of the following conditions: you have fully watched all video lessons, you have completely read and finished the e-book, you have completed all 20 practice exams flawlessly via the "Simulate Real Exam" option (you may repeat a practice exam as many times as you like until you complete it without errors, this is automatically tracked in your progress data; only a completion via that method counts), the progress data in the platform confirms the above completion, you have failed your first official exam attempt (not a retake), you submit the request within 14 days after the exam date via your personal account on the platform, and you provide an official proof of failure (exam document from a recognized exam center).
Applying for the guarantee is simple via your account on the platform. Step 1: log in to your account on www.etheorie.be and go to the Guarantee section in your profile. Step 2: click on the guarantee button and follow the steps in the form. Step 3: upload your official exam document as proof of failure for the first exam attempt. Step 4: eTheorie.be automatically verifies your progress data via the backend. Step 5: after approval, you will receive your refund within 14 calendar days. Submit your request within 14 days after your exam date. Late requests will not be accepted.
After your request is approved, you will receive the refund within 14 calendar days to the account with which you made the purchase.
No. The guarantee applies only to the first official exam attempt after purchasing the Premium package. Retakes or later attempts are not eligible, regardless of the reason for the previous failure.
Exam & Exam Center
You schedule your official theory exam directly with a recognized exam center in your area. The most well-known organization is GOCA (www.goca.be). On their website, you will find an overview of exam centers and how to make an appointment. Handy: through your account on the eTheorie.be platform, you can directly choose your exam center. You will then be redirected to the registration form of the exam center of your choice, so you can quickly and easily make an appointment. Note: eTheorie.be helps you with preparation and guides you to the right page, but has no role in actually scheduling or organizing the official exam. All questions about your exam appointment should be directed to the exam center.
The exam fee is paid directly at the exam center itself, on-site or via the payment method offered by the exam center. It is not possible to pay the exam fee through the eTheorie.be platform. eTheorie.be does not collect exam fees in any way.
For the official theoretical driving exam in Belgium (driving license B), you must score at least 41 out of 50 points. That is a passing percentage of 82%. The exam consists of multiple-choice questions about traffic regulations, traffic signs, and hazard recognition. Note: some questions count for multiple points (e.g., 5 points per question). It is thus a point total of 41/50, not about the number of correctly answered questions.
The official theoretical driving exam typically lasts about 30 minutes. You will answer 50 multiple-choice questions on a touchscreen or computer at the exam center. Also, plan time for reception and waiting time before and after the exam.
Yes, we can help you get started! Through your personal account on the platform, you can choose your desired exam center. You will then be automatically redirected to the registration form of that exam center, so you can easily make an appointment for your official theory exam. Note: eTheorie.be does not process exam reservations itself. The actual appointment is made through the exam center itself. We only ensure a quick redirect to the right page.
eTheorie.be is completely independent of all recognized exam centers. In case of problems, cancellations, delays, technical failures, or disputes at an exam center, eTheorie.be bears no responsibility. Resolve such issues directly with the involved exam center or the competent authority.

No, this is absolutely prohibited. If you receive a suspicious message, do not click on any link and contact us immediately at info@etheorie.be.
Minors
Yes. In Belgium, young people aged 17 years can already take the theoretical driving exam (for example, as part of accompanied driving). Young people aged 17 can also register independently and purchase a package on eTheorie.be. By registering, they confirm that a parent or legal guardian is aware of the purchase and agrees to the General Terms and Conditions.
For young people younger than 17 years, prior explicit consent from a parent or legal guardian is required. The parent or guardian must create the account themselves, accept the General Terms and Conditions on behalf of the minor, and make and pay for the purchase. The parent/guardian is fully responsible for all actions via the minor's account.
After Passing
Congratulations! After passing your theory exam, you can start your practical training in Belgium. Depending on the chosen route, there are two options. Accompanied Driving (BVR): learning to drive with a supervisor (minimum 25 years old, at least 8 years of driving experience) for at least 9 months before your practical exam. Driving School: taking lessons at a recognized driving school and then taking your practical exam after a minimum of 3 months. eTheorie.be collaborates with partner driving schools and can refer you. Contact us at info@etheorie.be.
Accompanied driving (formerly BVR) allows you to drive after your 17th birthday, provided an official supervisor is present. The supervisor must be at least 25 years old, have at least 8 years of uninterrupted driving experience (no driving bans), and be recognized as a supervisor through a recognized driving school. After at least 9 months of accompanied driving (at least 1,500 km recommended), you can take your practical exam. More information can be found on the website of the Flemish, Walloon, or Brussels government or at a recognized driving school.
Yes. You retain access to the platform until the end of the access period stated at the time of purchase, even if you have already passed. However, the remaining period is not refunded in case of early termination.
