To your theory exam, you must bring two mandatory items: an original and valid identity document and a payment card for the exam fee. Copies or photos on your smartphone are not accepted. Make sure to arrive ten to fifteen minutes early.

Your identity document

This is the most important document. It must be original and valid:

  • your electronic identity card (eID) or Kids-ID,
  • or a valid foreigner card,
  • or, if you are not Belgian and reside in Belgium, your passport or residence document.

If you have lost your identity card or it has been stolen, request a Supplement 12, a temporary identity document, from the police or your municipality. That original document is sufficient to participate.

Your payment

You pay the exam fee on-site at the counter, usually with Bancontact. Cash is generally not accepted, so bring your payment card.
